"Femme Schoolboy"

Brigitte Green

claim to musedom:
Vice President of Licensing at The Beggars Group

LA native and NYC-based Brigitte is rock n’ roll through and through. And it has nothing to do with the fact that she’s fully immersed in the music world and listens to bands for a living (Yep, that cool indie music you hear during an Apple commercial was probably Brigitte’s doing). She’s just a badass girl whose style is never pandering or posturing—just a whirling dervish of pixie bangs, vintage, luxury, and boy meets girl. Only a girl with this much style could show up to Webster Hall in Chanel flats and fur and still be edgy enough to hang with the band.

style: Femme Schoolboy

I like classic lines, modern prints and pops of color. I mix in a lot of vintage and fur. Always fur!

Forget the Birkin, Brigitte collects denim

I love jeans! They are so easy and go with everything. You don’t have to have style beyond a great pair of demin and a blouse–you can really express your point of view with jeans, they get better with age and are timeless. My all time fav? Vintage Orange Label Levi’s.

Who is your favorite style icon?

My mother. My style is mostly shaped by my Mom who was a fashion designer in the 70’s. She used to wear these high-waisted, tight blue jeans with a tucked in Fila shirt and these big sunglasses.

Try mixing vintage and luxury

Chanel flats with a vintage dress channel Coco herself.

Pull a Willie Nelson (no, not tax evasion!)--wear a scarf around your forehead.

Try wearing an ultra feminine scarf around your head.
The effect is less Axel Rose and more off-beat chic.

What sort of style stops you in your tracks?

I’m drawn to individual pieces. Some fabulous piece will push me into a long conversation with a stranger about their vintage Dries coat or their homemade belt! I admire other people’s style as well. I might take a cue from someone who I think looks amazing and try to incorporate it into my own style. It doesn’t always work but isn’t that what’s fun about it all? You play dress up and sometimes you’re a star and other times, well, lesson learned!
